You make SAF happen! SAF is a dynamic member-driven trade association that advances the interests of the entire floral industry. Three key elements help to keep SAF as the leading advocate for the floral industry:
Councils SAF Councils represent the three main segments of membership: Retailers, Growers and Wholesalers. Council members, who are leaders in their respective fields, meet twice each year and keep SAF apprised of the latest developments in the floriculture industry. The Councils make recommendations on how SAF should respond to industry needs and give feedback on SAF’s strategic direction. Input from these important advisory groups is forwarded to the appropriate Committees for further expansion.
Committees
SAF Committees help develop and implement all of the programs and services SAF offers to members and the floriculture industry. Organized into nine functional areas and representing all segments of the industry, these Committees provide vital insight, direction and leadership to SAF’s programs, products, and services. Committees help SAF monitor and evaluate industry trends, assist in the creation of new products and services, determine government relations strategies and create professional development and industry recognition programs.
Board of Directors
To ensure that all of the efforts of the Councils and the Committees help SAF to fulfill its strategic mission and meet its organizational goals, SAF is governed by a group of dedicated members who serve on the Board of Directors. The SAF Board of Directors is made up of representatives from all segments of the floriculture industry. These volunteers have made long-term commitments to lead SAF in its efforts to provide the best representation and service to members and the floriculture industry as a whole. They approve strategic initiatives introduced by the Committees, help develop operating budgets and financial strategies, and steer SAF on a "steady course" as we navigate the numerous and dramatic changes that affect retail florists, growers, wholesalers and suppliers.
