About Speaker Jim Prevor
Industry analyst Jim Prevor is widely
recognized as a leader who identifies and evaluates broad societal
trends, such as the sustainability movement, and helps businesses seize
the opportunities they represent. He currently directs a cross-cultural
study of consumer attitudes toward sustainability and corporate
responsibility.
Prevor has a long background in the fresh food and
floral industries. He has taught sustainability at Cornell University and has presented on the subject nationally and internationally at industry meetings, seminars and workshops. His articles on sustainability have been recognized for excellence by several national editorial competitions.
The founder and editor-in-chief of several magazines, Prevor’s first launch was "Produce Business," which serves the supermarket, supercenter and warehouse club end of the floral industry as part of its focus.
Prior to launching his own company, Prevor served as a director of his family's multi-generational business, which included a trading company that imported, exported and wholesaled fresh food and floral products. At various times, the company also operated supermarkets and convenience stores, a restaurant chain and various farming ventures.
Prevor has led an effort to utilize the Internet and modern information technologies to advance the interests of the fresh food and floral industry. As part of this initiative, he launched Jim Prevor's Perishable Pundit, a unique forum for the discussion and analysis of issues relevant to the industry.

Much in demand as a speaker, Prevor has given keynote addresses and workshops in every continent except Antarctica. His writing has appeared in publications worldwide, including The Wall Street Journal.
Prevor’s work combines the real world experience of one who has worked in the industry with the perspective of an editor and analyst. He takes abstract topics, such as sustainability, and lays out real-life roadmaps to business and personal success.
