and Deborah De La Flor, AIFD, PFCI (2006 Sylvia Cup honorable mention
winner)
You
enjoy the action on Food Network's "Iron Chef." The floral industry has
a similar contest featuring floral designers and flowers.
Marking
its 42nd anniversary, the Sylvia Cup is the industry's longest running,
live, national annual floral design competition.
The winner receives $2,500, and two honorable mentions receive $250 provided by Smithers-Oasis.
Watch
as top floral designers are given two hours, the same amount of flowers
and supplies, and a surprise task.
Among the contestants: winners of
state and regional floral industry design contests, serial design
competitors, designers of the year and members of the prestigious
American Institute of Floral Designers.
